Biden Administration to increase refugee admission

CNN is reporting that the Biden Administration intends to increase the number of refugees admitted to the US for the current fiscal year. The number, which the Trump Administration had set to 15,000 for the entire fiscal year, could be increased to 62,500.

This change is consistent with the recent executive order by President Biden. That order refocuses US policy with the goal of becoming more welcoming and efficient in processing refugee admissions. The order requires US agencies to review all Trump policies and implement the new policies.
